Global Voices Summit 2024: expression of interest form

Please complete this form to express your interest in attending the 2024 Global Voices Summit, which will take place on December 3-7 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

GV Summits are an opportunity for community members to gather for a week of conversations and sharing of skills, experiences and ideas about the present and future of Global Voices—plus lots of fun, food, and fellowship! Fundraising for Summits has become increasingly difficult over the years and the cost of travel has increased since the pandemic, so while we'd love to be able to bring the entire community to Kathmandu, the reality is that we can't.

This year we’ll be able to bring 100-plus community members to the Summit. For each Summit attendee, GV will cover economy round-trip travel from their city of residence, visa fees and hotel accommodation for the period of the meeting. Community members who are able to cover their own travel costs are, of course, also welcome to attend.

Submissions made through this form will be reviewed and final selections made by regional editors, translation managers, section and project leaders, and the core team. Note that important criteria for selection include your level of contribution (number of posts, translations, etc.) and participation in the life of the GV Community.

December 3-5: Internal meeting, where GV Community members spend time together sharing ideas and experiences and planning GV’s future direction.

December 6-7: Public conference, where the GV Community and our partners share our work and exchange ideas with the general public in two days of interactive sessions.

Community members are expected to attend both the internal and the public meetings.

Your commitment: While GV Summits are always great fun, the primary purpose of these gatherings is to work on GV’s future and mission, and take full advantage of the rare opportunity for face-to-face interactions with fellow community members and guests from over 65 countries, as well as the citizens of our host country. To ensure that we all have the best time possible at the Summit, we expect all Summit attendees to abide by our Code of Ethics, and to be caring and respectful of others.
