As previously announced, GV Lingua has partnered with Meedan, via its Bridge Translation tool, to translate RightsCon conference tweets to Spanish (@rightsCon2es) and Arabic (@rightscon3rabi), from Wednesday, March 30 to Friday, April 1, 2016. Meet the Speakers and the Program.

Bridge tool helps communities translate, annotate, share, and source the most compelling global content on social media. There are two ways you can use Bridge, on your computer via a google Chrome browser extension and on your iphone, through the bridge app.

Twitter plays such an important role at RightsCon in terms of documenting, sharing and building networks amongst attendees. But at such an international conference, sometimes language can be a barrier to participation. The Meedan & GV Lingua team translated the English Tweets posted by speakers and participants under #RightsCon, #RightsCon2016 and #KeepItOn into Arabic and Spanish.

Business leaders, visionaries, technologists, legal experts, Internet civil society organisations, activists, companies and governments got together in San Francisco to address the subject of human rights, the internet and Freedom of Expression to promote the open internet. 2016 RightsCon event was convened by Access Now.

Didn't make it to RightsCon this year? The conference recorded quite a few of videos selection of sessions, you can find them here.
