January can be a dull month as people drag themselves back to work after the colorful holiday season. Many people across Africa complain about being financially constrained and this makes the mood worse. However 2018 has started on a light note across Africa as Twitter got busy with people making relationships match-ups for people with similar features, activities and geographical positions.

The hashtag #DateOneSide was started in South Africa, but like a wildfire the whole of Africa and beyond jumped onto the bandwagon. Let's explore some of the hilarious tweets out of it..

Twitter user Mwes M Drew mocked Arsenal's loyalty of holding on to its long serving coach Arsene Wenger, further more using Manchester United's expressive photo.

Abiurdn on twitter refers to people who snore as generators and asks them to date each other.

In Africa the fact that first born children always take up the role of parent whenever the parents are away. Managing close to 10 siblings or even more sometimes is a lot of work.

Another twitter user, Mosh wants to end cross generational relationships and asked Sugar Mommies and Sugar Daddies to date each other and keep diabetes on one side.

JUSTYN on twitter refers to dimples as potholes and urges people with dimples to date each other.
