Dear All,

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to our Spanish-speaking Latin America editor Melissa Vida, who joined us earlier this year. 

Melissa has quickly become a leader in the GV newsroom, inspiring her community of authors, publishing many stories, and most recently, spearheading a Special Coverage page on Gender Violence in Latin America and the Caribbean in collaboration with Fernanda Canofre.

Melissa, a journalist who has been a volunteer with GV in Spanish since July 2017, describes herself as a US-born Salvadoran/Belgian. She has worked extensively in the areas of human rights, refugee issues, media and digital activism.
