Change in Arabic Lingua Leadership!

Hello, everyone. Ali Khalil stepped down as Arabic Translation Manager at Global Voices, as personal time commitments won't allow him to manage the site.

Ali joined GV as a translator in May 2016, afterward, he joined our Translation Managers team! Thank you very much for your contribution over the years!

It is my pleasure to announce joining a new Arabic Translation Manager. Please meet Mariam Abuadas!

Mariam is an experienced project director in the fields of community management, gender equality, and women-driven projects throughout the Middle East, in the field and within digital spaces. She is co-founder of the Jordan-based women NGO Tatawor, focusing on advocacy, gender equality, women’s rights, and economic empowerment, working at a grassroots level to provide local communities the tools to create a change in the governance model and decision-making mechanisms.

Mariam is also the co-founder of – a platform providing young Arab women from the Middle East and North Africa region, smart, informative content. In addition to Arabic, Mariam is fluent in English with deep knowledge of Middle Eastern cultural and regional variations and can communicate in French and Spanish. Follow Mariam on Facebook and Twitter
