The Global Voices 2022 Community Council [1] convenes between September 19 and October 22. Our topic this year is Defining our strategy: a community dedicated to international understanding [2]. over 170 [3] of us met to discuss Global Voices next strategy, and to more precisely define what we mean when we say that we build understanding across communities, nations and languages.
As part of the Council, we prepare a presentation about the state of Global Voices. This document covers both our successes and challenges with our activities, and our finances and organizational health. It includes information through the first two quarters of 2020.
2022 has been another strong year for Global Voices, both for our editorial teams and traffic, and in rolling out new projects, especially for Rising Voices [4] and Advox. [5] Our Civic Media Observatory [6] research also continues with new projects and an expanding team of researchers.
We invite all Global Voices community members who have reached the criteria for participation [1] to join the Council, and we look forward to your thoughts and ideas!
