I teach at the MIT Media Lab and in Comparative Media Studies at MIT. I study technology and social change, and am writing a new book on civics and mistrust. I've been a blogger since 2003, though these days, I write for The Atlantic and other publications more than on my own blog. Along with Rebecca, i'm co-founder of Global Voices, and I still believe in the power of getting to know people around the world through their words and pictures.
